CBSA Border Services Officer Trainee – Development Programs

The Canada Border Services Agency ( CBSA) is looking to hire a Border Services Officer (BSO) Trainee for the Development Program (FB- 02). The posting would be across different locations in Canada. The salary of the selected candidates will be $80,344 to $89,462 on per year basis. The minimum education requirement is a secondary school diploma. The last date to apply is February 27, 2026.

CBSA Officer Trainee Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the candidate will be to screen the travellers and goods at the ports. They will make sure that everything on the port passes through customs and immigrations. They will conduct the interviews. The candidate will conduct the inspections. They will write the reports. They will use different types of equipment.

Required Qualifications:

The candidates are required to have a secondary school diploma. They should be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. They should be eligible to get the secret security clearance. They should have a valid driver’s license.

Experience Needed:

There is no requirement for previous experience, but if the candidate has any of the following, then it would be considered an asset. The candidate could have worked in law enforcement. They should have previous experience as a student border services officer. They should have experience with the Canadian armed forces.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong judgment skills. They should have good communication skills. They should have analytical thinking. The candidate should be able to work under pressure.
