Maintenance Tradesperson

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is looking to hire individuals for the position of Maintenance Tradesperson at the Prairie Region in Canada. The individual will be working under Technical Services and Facilities team. The selected individual will make sure that the infrastructure of CSC will run safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance tasks. These tasks will be maintenance and correctness. The tasks will also involve driving and construction work. The candidates will provide help with the work of painting and plumbing. Welding etc. Some candidates might have to work as a Relief Officer and help train the inmates.

Qualification:

The requirement to apply for the job is a Secondary school diploma and a good score on the PSC test. The copy of the certificates shall be submitted with the resume.

 Experience Needed

For the experience, the candidate should have hands on experience in operating and maintaining buildings. They should also know how to work with the HVAC systems and electrical equipment. An experience of working with the facilities is appreciated too.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates who apply for the work should be team player with excellent communication skills. The candidates should be critical thinkers, respectful towards others and good at problem solving. The candidate should also have a strong work ethic.

 Benefits

The selected candidate will get a salary of $31.24 to $33.95 per hour. There will be 3 week paid vacation. The pension and retirement benefits are including dental, health and vision care. Since it’s a permanent position, there will be an option for early retirement at 50 years of age as well.
