Truck and Transport Technician

Calgary transit is looking for higher truck and transport technicians. If you are driven to work in the mechanical sector, this is your opportunity to apply. 

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates who will be selected will be responsible for repairing and maintaining buses and heavy duty equipment. The selected candidate will help the apprentices and the foreman with assessments. They will be responsible for a clean, safe and organised workplace. 

Education:

To apply for this job, the required qualification is to have completed a journeyman certificate in truck and transportation. A valid class 5 driver’s licence is required. 

Experience:

To apply for the job, you must have hands on experience in mechanical repair. There should be sufficient experience in working with diesel engines and heavy duty vehicles. If you have a training in technical or mechanical studies in the heavy duty field, that will be a plus point. If you have already previously worked in public transit vehicles or diesel buses, that will be an asset. 

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have strong Diagnostic skills along with the troubleshooting capability. They should be comfortable in interpreting vehicle manuals and repair documents. They should be able to work independently and also as part of a team. The candidate should have good communication skills and strong time management skills. 

 Benefits

The salary will be $40 to $46 per hour. This salary will be negotiable based on the experience of the candidate. This job opportunity also provides growth with Calgary Transit. Selected candidates will have paid training. They will also be given the benefit of pension contributions.
