Marine Senior Engineer/Chief Engineer

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Fleet is looking to hire Marine Senior Engineers and Chief Engineers (SO-MAO-07 to SO-MAO-10) for the Western Region Team. The work location will be in Victoria, British Columbia. The selected candidates will be serving on the CCG vessel across the BC coast and Lake Winnipeg. The candidate will work for maritime safety and national service.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibility of the selected candidates will be to supervise and manage the operations and repair of plants and equipment. They will lead the engine room staff and oversee material resources. They will provide technical advice and onboard training to the crew.

Qualification:

The required qualification to apply for the job is a valid Transport Canada STCW certificate of competency. They should have a valid Health Canada seafarer’s medical. They should be able to obtain the secret security clearance. They should be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

Experience:

There are different experience requirements for different positions. But a short fleet experience will be counted as a plus point.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should display leadership qualities. They should be expert in technical work. They should have strong communication skills. They should be adaptable to work overtime or in 42 day sea deployments.

 Benefits
