Child Protection Worker (Growth)

The Ministry of Children and Family Department (MCFD) is looking to hire Child Protection Worker (Growth). This will be a full-time regular position. The location of the work will be multiple locations of British Columbia, Canada.. The job is a part of the Indigenous Family Services Team.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the selected candidates will be to ensure child safety and protection. They will provide preventative services with the Indigenous cultural perspective. They will apply culturally safe and trauma informed practices under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA). They will provide guidance to children and youth who face a crisis.

Qualification:

The required qualification to apply for this job is a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care or equivalent. The candidates with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology can also apply. The candidates with equivalent education in sociology, psychology, criminology or nursing with one year of experience in the related field can also apply. The candidate should hold a valid driving license.

Experience:

The candidate should have experience in child welfare, social work or human services. The experience of working with indigenous children would be a plus point. The candidates who are eligible for the CFCSA delegation will be given preference.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have an understanding of indigenous culture and community engagement. They should know how to apply trauma informed approaches. They should have critical decision making skills in highly stressful situations.

 Benefits

The candidates will get a salary of $73,924.81 – $97,595.12 per year. This will include pension benefits and career development opportunities.
