Primary Worker / Kimisinaw (CX-02) (Correctional Officer II – Women’s Institutions)

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is looking to hire Primary Worker/Kimisinaw (CX-02) – Correctional Service Canada. The work locations will be Edmonton, Kitchener, Joliette, Nekaneet First Nation, Truro and other cities in Canada. The candidates will be responsible for balancing security and case management duties.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidates will be responsible for managing the offender caseloads and preparing the case management documents and reports. They will help the offenders with self-management. They will conduct security functions. They will search the cells, visitors, vehicles and offenders. They will encourage the healing by encouraging participation in the different programs.

EducationEducation:

The candidates are required to have a Secondary School Diploma. They should have a valid Standard First Aid and APR Level C with AED certification. They should have an unrestricted driver’s license. The candidates should have completed the Correctional Training Program (CTP)

Experience Experience:

There is no particular experience requirement, but the following experiences will be considered an asset. Experience in correctional, policing, military or emergency response environments or experience in case management.

SkillsSkills Competencies:

The candidate should have the ability to acquire and analyse information and take action accordingly. They should have effective communication skills. They should have the capacity to positively motivate the offenders.

The selected candidates will get a salary of $82,122 – $103,079 on per year basis. This is a permanent employment position with benefits like pension, health and paid leaves. There will be an opportunity for further advancement and specialized assignments.
