Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is looking to hire candidates for the position of Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist (Inventory) within its science branch. The job location will be Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Saint Hyacinthe, Canada. This is a full-time, on-site position where candidates will provide diagnostic pathology services in animal health and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the candidates include delivering veterinary anatomic pathology diagnostic laboratory services for animals. They will provide pathology support for meat inspection and forensic pathology. They will lead a team of technicians in compliance with ISO 17025 certification standards. The candidates will manage laboratory assets. They will be assisting internal and external CFIA clients. They will participate in the research projects.
Required Qualifications:
The candidates are required to graduate from a recognized school of Veterinary Medicine approved by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). They should have post graduate studies in veterinary anatomic pathology with board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP). They should have a CVMA certificate of qualification.
Experience Needed:
The candidates should have 2 years of experience in delivering veterinary anatomic pathology services. They should have worked in collaboration with diverse stakeholders. They should have experience analysing the scientific data.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidates should have advanced diagnostic skills. They should have leadership skills. They should have strong scientific communication skills. They should have clearance for biosecurity and laboratory safety standards.
