ENGINEERING TEST PILOT – FIXED WING

The Transport Canada, Civil Aviation Branch is looking to hire for the position of Engineering Test Pilot (Fixed wing). The job location will be Ottawa, Canada. This is a permanent position with full time work.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible to plan and conducting the flight tests for aircraft certification and approval. They will serve as a pilot in command (PIC) during flight tests for certification and audits. They will develop new regulations and advisory material for the certification of new aircraft. The candidates will review and assess the qualifications for design approval. They will maintain a high level of technical proficiency by participating in the training.

Qualification:

The candidate should have a degree in engineering, mathematics or science and one year Engineering Test Pilot course recognized by Transport Canada. They can also have a degree in engineering or eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada and 5 years of experience as a developmental test pilot. They should have a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Certificate.

Experience:

The candidate should have experience working as a pilot in command across multiple aircraft. They should have experience working as an Engineer Test Pilot (ETP) in certification projects. They should have over 2,500 flight hours.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have good aeronautical knowledge like aerodynamics, performance and stability, etc. They should have good analytical problem solving skills. They should have strong written and spoken communication skills.

 Benefits

The candidates will get a salary of $155,573 to $182,789 per annum (AO-ETP-01). They will get pension benefits. They will also get health, dental and disability coverage.
