Student Capital Ambassador (Summer 2026)
The Department of Canadian Heritage is looking to hire 25 Student Capital Ambassadors for Summer 2026. The work location will be Ottawa, Canada. This is a work opportunity under the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP). This is a full time work opportunity with a possibility of part-time re hire during the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidates will be providing front line visitor services and answering any questions. They will conduct guided tours. The candidates will lead educational programs. They will participate in national events like Canada Day. They will have to work outdoors for extended periods of time. They will need to communicate in English and French. The candidates will work from April 29 – September 7, 2026.
Education:
The candidates must be registered post-secondary students. They should meet FSWEP eligibility criteria. They should be proficient in English and French and should be able to communicate fluently in both languages.
Experience:
The candidates should have experience in tourism, education or customer service. They should have experience working with the public in a cultural setting. The candidates should know about Canadian history and heritage.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills. They should be good at public speaking. The candidates should be able to adapt to a diverse group of audience.
