Fire Crew Leader

Parks Canada is looking to hire a Fire Crew Leader. The job location will be Wood Buffalo National Park (NT), Canada. This will be a  full time position from April to September 2026. The candidate will look after the conservation projects in the National Park.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for supervising the fire crew during any forest fire.  The candidate will look after the cultural resources. They will be travelling a lot. They will train the fire crew members. The candidate will work outdoors for extended periods of times.

Education Qualification:

The candidate is required to have a secondary school diploma. A combination of education and relevant experience is also accepted. They should have completed the CIFFC S230 Crew Leader Course. The candidate should have a valid Class 5 Driver’s license. They should have CPR certification. They should be eligible to get chainsaw certification.

Experience Experience:

The candidate should have fire management experiences. They should have direct fire line experience. They should have experience with the fire equipment. They should have experience in a forestry environment.

SkillsSkills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong leadership skills. They should be able to train crew members. They should have knowledge of fire behaviour. They should be accountable.

The selected candidate will get a salary of $66,757–$75,699 on per year basis. They will get an isolated post allowance. The candidates will get vacation travel assistance. They will also get relocation allowance. They will get a pension and health benefits.
