Student Ranger Crew Lead

Ministry of Environment and Parks, BC Public Service is looking to hire Student Ranger Crew Leads (PK AST 09R). The work will be for the season of 2026. The job locations are Victoria, Black Creek, Vancouver, Nelson, Kamloops, Bella Coola and other places in Canada. This is a temporary position with onsite work opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will look after the coordination of daily crew operations. They will plan the tasks of the project. They will act as a liaison between crew teams and Park staff. They will be managing the reporting. They will keep track of inventory. They will help the crew transport to the work locations. The candidates will be working in the remote region.

Qualification:

The candidates should have enrolled in full time studies. They should be Canadian citizen or permanent residents or Canada. The candidates should have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license. They should be able to complete the mandatory training program.

Experience:

The candidates should have experience in public outreach, conservation work or indigenous knowledge. They should have experience in leading a group of people in academics. They should have done an outdoor activity like hiking or camping. The candidate should have strong leadership skills.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should be able to work in remote locations. They should be a strong team player. They should have problem solving skills. The candidates should be able to do the physically demanding work.

 Benefits

The selected candidates will get a salary of $28.30 – $31.89 on per hour basis. They will be eligible for biweekly isolation allowance. They will get training on the job. The candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills.
