Licensed Psychologist
The BC public service, Ministry of family development is looking to hire a licence psychologist. The location is Nanaimo, BC, in Canada. The candidate will work with the youth forensic psychiatric services.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for conducting the Independence psychological assessment for youth. They will provide special counselling to those who are in custody. They will help the junior psychologists, provide them with supervision. The candidate will collaborate with teams from different departments. The candidate will participate in research program development. They will prepare the reports and documentation.
Qualification:
The candidate is required to have a PhD in clinical psychology. They should be registered with the College of Health and Care professionals of British Columbia as a licensed psychologist. The candidates with a PhD, eligible for registration, can be appointed as well. The candidate should have a valid class 5 BC driver’s licence.
Experience:
The candidate should have 3 years of experience in clinical adolescent psychology. They should have a post graduate training in forensic psychology. The experience of working with the adolescents will be considered as an asset.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate should have good assessment skills. They should have knowledge of forensic mental health. They should have strong analytical skills. They should have a good ability to manage the sensitive cases. The candidate should be a good leader. They should be able to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. They should have good written and spoken communication skills.
Benefits
The selected candidate will get a salary of $100,090.56 – $127,397.44 on per year basis. This will be a 35 hour work week. The candidate will get 4 weeks of paid leave. They will be eligible for comprehensive health benefits. There will be a hybrid work option available.
