Journeyperson – Mechanic

City of Regina’s Facilities & Fleet Division is looking to hire a dedicated person for the role of Journeyperson Mechanic. The job location will be in Saskatchewan, Canada. This would be a permanent and term based job opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for inspecting and servicing the larger vehicles. They will look after the bigger equipment. They will look out for any mechanical problem in the engine and brake system. They will repair the gas and diesel engines and drivetrains. They will do the inspections when required. They will do the road testing. They will prepare the replacement parts lists. The candidate will train the team and other staff members.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate is required to have a Journeyperson Certificate in heavy duty equipment mechanic, truck and transport mechanic, agriculture mechanic technician or any such related field. They should be able to submit proof of education when applying for the job.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have 2 years of experience working at the journeyperson level. They should have experience working with heavy trucks and other vehicles.

The candidate should be able to diagnose problems. They should be good at testing the equipment. They should be able to interpret technical documents. They should have good time management skills.
