Senior Marine Safety Inspector (Marine Engineering)

Transport Canada, Marine Safety & Security is looking to hire dedicated professionals for the role of Senior Marine Safety Inspector – Inventory (Marine Engineering). The job location for this position will be Kingston, North York, Sarnia and Thunder Bay, Ontario in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for inspecting and certifying. They will asses the safety of the structures of ships. They will assess the machinery of ships. They will help with the safe transportation. They will look after the transportation of the goods that are regulated. They will investigate any safety issues. They will issue the documents related to the operation of the vessels.

Required Qualifications:

The candidates should have a secondary school diploma. A combination of education and relevant experience is also acceptable. They should be a Second class engineer.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have 5 years of experience in marine engineering of any related field. They should have experience in ship design, construction, repair, operation, inspection, and technical and operational ship management. They should have experience as a Chief Engineer on a ship.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong analytical skills. They should have good judgment. They should be reliable. They should have good written and spoken communication skills. They should be able to work well under stressful situations.
