Research Affiliate

Agriculture and Agri Food Canada (AAFC), Science and Technology Branch, is looking to hire dedicated students for the Research Affiliate Summer Student position. The job location will be Normandin, Quebec in Canada. The program duration is from May 4, 2026, to August 28, 2026. The candidate will work in the agriculture and environmental research.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for helping with seeding and harvesting the research plots. They will collect plants and soil from the field of experiment. They will collect the data. They will do a basic analysis. They will conduct laboratory activities. They will maintain a clean environment in the workspace. The candidate will follow the research protocols.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must be enrolled in a recognized university in a related field like Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Natural Resources or Soil Science. They should have a full time student status.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience in doing the research. They must have done volunteer research before. They should have experience in collecting and analysing the samples. They should know about the research methods.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should know how to work in a team. They should have good organisational skills. They should be able to follow the instructions. They should have good communication skills. They should be interested in the subject of agriculture.

Benefits

The selected candidate will get a salary of $17.75 – 38.38 on per hour basis. The salary would depend on their education and experience. They will get to work for 37.5 hours per week. They will get experience in a federal organization. There will be chances for professional growth. They will get to network with relevant agencies.
