The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is looking to hire Counsel ( LP -01 and LP -02). The work locations will be Iqaluit, Nunavut, and Whitehorse, Yukon in Canada. The positions offer a salary from $93,262 to $206,386 on per year basis. The candidate will also get an isolation allowance. The closing date of the application is December 31, 2025. The candidate should have a degree in law to apply for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will conduct the prosecution in serious matters like homicide, impaired driving and sexual offences. They will represent the Crown in trials and jury proceedings. The candidates will travel to the rural areas. They will work in collaboration with law enforcement. The candidates will work in alignment with the indigenous laws.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate should have a degree in law from a recognized university. They should be eligible to become members of the Law Society of Nunavut or Yukon. They should be eligible to get enhanced reliability security clearance.
Experience Needed:
For LP -01, the candidates should have experience in making court appearance as a counsel. For LP -02, the candidate should have experience in conducting criminal litigation over a broad range of files.
