Student Interpreter – INVENTORY
Parks Canada is looking to hire dedicated students for the post of student interpreter inventory. The job location will be Cape Brenton Highlands National Park of Canada in Nova Scotia and in Ingo Nish beach. The candidates will be responsible for handling the visitor education program. This is an inventory recruitment, which means that the candidates will also be considered for future vacancies. The last day to apply for this position is May 3, 2027. The selected candidates will get a salary of $17.75 to $28.30 on per hour basis. The candidates should be registered as full time or part time student in a secondary or post-secondary program.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be responsible for interpretive programs and they will deliver the presentations to the visitors in the park. They will educate the visitors about park features and cultural heritage. Candidates will help with the special events, like School field trips. They will also help the interpretation team with daily tasks and outreach.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate should be registered as a full time or part time student in a secondary or post-secondary Institution. They should have participated in an adult education program. The candidate should be legally authorised to work in Canada. They should be eligible to obtain reliability status security clearance. The candidates should have a valid class 5 Nova Scotia driver’s licence.
Experience Needed:
The candidate should have experience in presenting information in front of a large group of people. They should have exposure to storytelling, guided walks, or performing arts. They should have good knowledge of natural history and geology.
Skills and Competencies:
Candidates should have good interpersonal skills. They should be good at giving presentations. They should have good teamwork skills. The candidate should be adaptable to working in an outdoor environment. They should be able to work at different hours in remote conditions. They should be physically strong enough to stand and walk for a longer period of time.
Benefits
