Correctional Officer

The British Columbia Public Service is inviting applications for the position of Correctional Officer in the Adult Custody Division. You will be working to help transition criminals and prisoners. The positions are located in various locations across British Columbia, including Kamloops, Surrey, and Victoria. Applications are open until January 4, 2025. The annual salary for this position, which includes incentives of up to $10,000, ranges from $60,662.32 to $89,322.69. Applicants must be 19 years of age or older.

Correctional centres operate 24 hours a day, so evenings/weekends/holidays and a variety of shift patterns are required. Successful candidates will be placed in current or future permanent vacancies. Candidates must be proficient in English.

Education:

• A high school diploma or GED (General Educational Development) certificate is required.
• Foreign educational qualifications require a Canadian equivalency certificate.
• Valid BC Driver’s license (minimum Class 5) or equivalent from another province.
• Must have the legal right to work in Canada.
