Dispatcher

The BC Service, Ministry of Forests, is looking to hire a candidate for the position of Dispatcher (Clerk R12). The candidate will work at the Cariboo Fire Centre. The job location will be Williams Lake, BC, Canada. This will be a temporary on site position. The time period of work will be from February 2026 to October 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for receiving and responding to the wildfire reports. They will dispatch the crew and resources to the location. They will have to manage the radio communication to keep in touch with the staff. The candidates will track the movement of aircraft. The candidates will have to keep the record of incident documentation.

Qualification:

The candidate will need to have passed Grade 12. They should have a valid Class 5 driver’s license. The candidate should type 50 words per minute or faster than this. They should know how to work in office administration. They should be skilled at keeping records management. They should be able to work in a high pressure environment.

Experience:

The candidate should have the ability to multitask. They should have experience to coordinate the activities of the team. They should know how to use digital systems and communication tools. They should have worked in public safety or wildlife operations before.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong communication skills. They should pay attention to details. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of the team. They should have the ability to multitask. They should have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

 Benefits

The selected candidate will get a salary of $54,387.32 – $61,395.95 on per year basis. They will get the training to work in an inclusive environment.
