The Cadieux-Léger Fellowship 2026-2027 – Research Affiliate Program

The Global Affairs Canada is looking for one dedicated individual for the Cadieux-Léger Fellowship 2026–2027 under the Research Affiliate Program (RAP). The job location is Gatineau, Quebec. The duration of the fellowship will be from September 2026 to August 2027. The candidate should be enrolled in a PhD program at a recognised postsecondary institution.  The selected candidate will receive a total salary of $ 54,000. The closing date of the application is January 30, 3036.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting research on international policies. They will write papers and policy briefs. The candidate will participate in the internal policy working group. They will participate in the policy development process. They will maintain the network with the GAC and Government of Canada. The candidate will alayze geo economic trends that affect Canada.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must be an enrolled student for PhD program at a recognised institution. Their field of study should be political science, economics, international relations, law or history or any related field. They should have a doctoral candidacy status. They should be willing to work on site. They should be eligible to get a secret security clearance.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience in academic research. They should have experience in writing papers. They should have exposure to foreign policy or international affairs. They should have experience with government stakeholders; this will be considered an asset.

Skills Competencies:

The candidate should have analytical skills. They should be able to work in the policy research environment. They should have good written and spoken communication skills. They should be able to work on difficult topics. They should have knowledge of English and French.
