Auto Body Technician

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the selected candidates will be to design and repair the vehicle bodies. They will build and modify the vehicles as per the instructions. The work will include performing operations on buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles. The painting and welding of the vehicles is also included in the main tasks of the employee.

Education:

To apply for this work, one must have a Journeyman Certificate in Auto Body (Prepper and Repair). A Q endorsement will play an important role in the hiring process of the candidate.

Experience:

The candidate should have work experience in upholstery, wheel alignment and welding before applying for the job. A valid class 5 driver’s license is compulsory.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate must be physically fit as the job will require heavy lifting i.e. 20 kg regularly. The candidate should be eligible to obtain City of Calgary operator’s permit. They should be a team player. They should have strong communication skills. They should be proficient in problem solving. They should know how to follow the instruction manuals of heavy vehicles.
