Peace Officer
Calgary Transit is looking to hire peace officers who will be responsible for the safety of the general public in the transit system. The responsibility of peace officers will be to patrol the network, help in times of emergency and provide support to the population.

Key Responsibilities:
The candidates who are applying for this position must possess the ability to promote public safety. The selected candidates will be responsible for liaison between the police services and transit services. They will conduct educational seminars for public and partner organisations on safety.
Education:
The candidates should have a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence. They must complete the physical test and should be available to work on a 24 hour rotating shift. This includes working on the weekends and holidays. The candidates who wish to apply should have a high school Diploma and 5 years of related experience. If the candidates have a degree in criminology or social work, that will be an asset.
Experience:
To apply for the job one must have experience in public service or law enforcement. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to resolve conflicts and work in high pressure situations. The candidate should be familiar with Court proceedings and community outreach programs.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. The candidate should have knowledge of enforcement procedures. They should have strong ethical standards and should be comfortable working in outdoor conditions.
