Communications Officer Trainee
The Ottawa Paramedic Service Communications Branch is looking to hire Communications Officer Trainees. The job location will be the City of Ottawa, Canada. This is a responsible role that supports life savings and ensures that the community gets the required professional medical health services in time of emergency.
Key Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the trainees will be to receive and assess the emergency and non-emergency calls for medical care. They will provide instructions to the caller before the medical team arrives. They coordinate communication between the ambulance staff and the caller. They manage enquiries and complaints in a professional way.
Qualification:
The required qualification to apply for the job is one year of post-secondary education in health care, emergency communications or public safety. The standard First aid , CPR and AED certification is important for the candidates. The certification of Emergency Medical Dispatcher and Emergency Medical Responder is also important.
Experience:
The candidates should have 4 years of experience in customer service. They could also have experience in emergency response or healthcare.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate should have strong crisis management and decision making skills. They should have tactics while dealing with the callers. They should have the ability to stay calm while dealing with the callers. They should also have strong interpersonal skills.
