Clinical Social Worker

CSC Clinical Social Worker Jobs. Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is looking to hire a Clinical Social Worker. The selected candidate will work with the health services team in Edmonton, Alberta and the Maple Creek area, Canada. The employee will have a chance to work in a dynamic environment and bring change to the society.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will conduct crisis intervention and provide psychological assessments of the individuals. Mostly, the candidate will work independently with the help of a team when required. This job consists of providing help to the inmates and identifying the offenders with psychological measures. You will have to work with the mental health institutes that accommodate inmates.

Education:

The candidates are required to have a Master’s in Social Work from recognized college/ university. They should be registered with the provincial licensing body. Their social work background should be strong.

Experience:

The required experience is that the candidate should have previously worked in crisis intervention or a community mental health service. If the candidate has worked with diverse people before, that would be a plus point.

Skills and Competencies:

For the skills and competencies, the candidate should be sensitive towards cultural differences. Along with this, the candidate should have good communication skills and emotional intelligence. There can be complex cases, so it is important for the candidate to have good judgment skills. Since the candidate will be travelling to places, it is important to have a driver’s license.

 Benefits

The offered salary is $84,655 and $104,579 per year. With this, the Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance of $2,140/year will be provided. The selected candidate will receive a pension and growth opportunity with respect to the current laws.
