Nurse

Correctional Service Canada is looking to hire Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (NU-HOS-03 level)  in different locations in Canada. The candidates will directly work with the federal correction institutes. They will be taking care of the mental health of inmates for their successful rehabilitation. 

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will have to be responsible for diagnosing any physical illness in the inmates. They will also help the inmates recover from mental illness and chronic diseases. There will be other job responsibilities like suicide prevention service, opiate recovery support, good health services and discharge planning.

Education:

The candidate is required to be a certified nurse in Canada. They should have a registered nurse license in the province where they want to be posted. They should have a valid CPR/ AED certificate.

Experience:

The experience required is the previous work of the candidate in a healthcare environment. Having a clinical fieldwork placement is important. The work setting should be surgical, psychological or medical.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have good judgment skills and should be able to work with the team. They should have good communication skills and should take the initiatives. The candidate should be proficient in English and French. They should have a CAN certificate.

 Benefits

Annual salary ranges from $95,896 to $109,001. There will be a $4,500 terminable allowance, and $3,850 educational allowance per year. There will be a 3 week paid leave. Healthcare and dental plans are included. The pension will be provided. The candidate will be eligible to avail of early retirement.
