Psychologist

Correctional Services Canada is looking to hire licensed Psychologists (PS-03 level). The position is open for different locations all over Canada. The work of the psychologist will be autonomous. Their main job will be to provide services in rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

The important responsibilities that the selected candidate will have are assessing the mental health status, basic personality and self harm pattern recognition. The psychologist will also be conducting Psychotherapy, facilitating emotional adjustment and behavioural intervention. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to new interns, will participate in new research and help improve the quality of new and running programs.

Education:

The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology or counselling psychology. They must be registered in the provincial regulatory college according to their choice of location.

Experience:

There is no requirement for previous experience. But if anyone will experience apply, the priority will be given to them. The previous experience will include work in a hospital, correction facility or a mental health institution.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have clear judgment, ethical decision making, compassion and good communication skills. They should be able to work under pressure. It would be required for the candidate to work with different teams. They should be efficient in providing the trauma response.

 Benefits

The yearly salary will be $103,600 to $120,780. People with a Master’s Degree will get an extra $6000 and those with a PhD will get an extra $12000 as a terminable allowance. This job offers the opportunity for further growth in a career.
