Electrical Officer

Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) are looking to hire Electrical Officers (SO-MAO-05). The work location will be Sarnia, Parry Sound, Burlington in Ontario and Quebec City. The selected candidates will work to maintain marine missions like navigation, rescue and national security. They will be a part of several marine missions.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will have responsibilities like repairing the electronic systems of the vessel. They will be a part of sea voyages. They will support the crew and participate in emergency duties. Candidates will be responsible for maintaining reports and records. They will be working as a part of the team.

Education:

For applying, the required qualification is a certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology. They should be proficient in English and French. They should have a secret security clearance. They should have a valid driving license and a passport.

Experience:

It is important to have experience as an Electrical Officer trainee on a CCG vessel. A 6 month experience as a Marine Electrical Officer on a marine platform.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should be equipped with critical thinking skills. They should have effective communication skills and should be able to work in a team. They should have a quick response time and should have a problem solving attitude.
