Law Clerk Program
Canada’s Federal Courts are offering a Law Clerk Program to recent law graduates. The work location will be Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is a one year work position for recent law graduates.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will conduct legal research on interpretations, case law and other important judicial matters. They will draft legal memoranda. They will write the case summaries. The candidates will help in analysing factual and legal issues for the judges. They will review the draft judgments. The candidates will manage the confidential case documents. They will provide legal support to the judges.
Required Qualifications:
The candidates should have completed LLB, Juris Doctor (JD) or any equivalent degree before August 3, 2027. The candidate should be proficient in English or French. They must be a resident of the National Capital Region. They should be able to get enhanced secret security clearance.
Experience Needed:
The candidate should have academic excellence. They should have strong research experience. The candidate should know how to prepare legal papers. They should have experience working in a law school or judicial environment.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate should have strong analytical skills. They should have good reasoning skills. They should pay attention to details. The candidate should know how to work independently. They should be working under strict deadlines.
