Student Opportunities: Ontario Urban Lands and Greenbelt, Branch Services and Conservation

The National Capital Commission (NCC) is looking to hire for Student Opportunities – Ontario Urban Lands and Greenbelt, Branch Services and Conservation for summer 2026. The job location will be Ottawa, Ontario. The employment program will run from May 2026 to August 2026. There are part time and full time opportunities available. The students will be paid according to the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat guidance. The last date to apply is March 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidates will help with the NCC operations. They will work with conservation, land use, infrastructure and public services. They will help with the field work. The candidates will help with the research and monitoring. They will do the administrative tasks. They will work in collaboration with the NCC teams to fulfil the task objectives. They will follow the safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should be a full time high school student, college student or university student. They should be enrolled in the next academic session. They should be eligible to get the reliability security clearance.

Experience Needed:

The candidate with experience working in a professional environment will be an asset. They should have a relevant academic background. For some roles, the requirement is specific like biology and conservation etc.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have good communication skills. They should have teamwork capabilities. They should be adaptable. They should be willing to take initiatives. They should know how to work outdoors. They should be attentive towards safety. The candidate should be bilingual in English and French. They should have a driver’s license.
