Water & Wastewater Operator

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) is looking to hire 2 dedicated Water & Wastewater Operators. These are one permanent and one temporary work position with up to 12 months of employment. The job location will be Espanola, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for operating the water and wastewater treatment processes. They will conduct a routine inspection. They will perform maintenance. The candidates will troubleshoot any issue. They will help with the repairs. They will maintain the log details. The candidates will work according to the safety protocols. They will use computerised systems. They will respond to emergency tasks.

Education:

The candidates must have OIT certification under O. Reg. 128/04 and 129/04. They should be eligible to get certification in water treatment. They should have a valid Class G driver’s license. They should be available to work overtime. They should have a high school education.

Experience:

The candidate should have experience of work in water and wastewater operations. They should have experience with general maintenance work. They should have experience and knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have strong analytical skills. They should have problem solving abilities. The candidates should have effective communication skills. They should know how to work with digital tools. They should be able to work in a team. They should be able to work as a manual labourer.
