Education Education:

The candidates have a valid emergency duty certificate from the STCW basic safety systems. The certificate should be equivalent to the Canadian education benchmark standards.

experience Experience:

  • The applicants have advanced experience in marine departments, survival craft, and rescue boats. The candidates who have a valid transport passport in Canada can apply for this job only.
  • The candidates must be honest and love to work with the team.
  • Advanced knowledge of the machinery department is required.
  • Experience as an Oiler/Engineer on a Coast Guard vessel

Skills Skills Competencies:

  • The candidates should have a valid engine room assistant certificate that is accredited by Transport Canada.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of languages such as English and French.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

  • The candidates have the patience to reside around the sea areas for prolonged periods of time (including Arctic Waters) and in adverse weather conditions.
  • The applicants need to wear and maintain a uniform, safety footwear, and personal protective equipment to Canadian Coast Guard standards.
  • For vessels assigned primarily to Search and Rescue operations, employees must be within 30 30-minute response time to the vessel during the assigned work period.
