Out of Care Social Worker (Growth)

The BC Public Service, Ministry of Children and Family development is looking to hire an Out of Care Social Worker (Growth). This is full time work in Campbell River, Port Hardy or other locations in British Columbia. The salary range will be $73,924.81 to $91,946.52. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Work can apply until January 11, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for helping the caregivers who will provide care to the children and youth outside the family. The candidates will work in collaboration with the extended family members and communities. They will manage good relationships between caregivers and families. They will write the documentation and reports. The candidate will make sure that the children and youth are safe. They will travel whenever required. The candidate will participate in team planning.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work. The candidate could also have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Or the candidates could have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with related education. They should have a class 5 valid driver’s license.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have 1 year of experience working with children or youth. They should have experience of work in child welfare or family support services. The candidate should have experience of work with the indigenous children and their families.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have good interpersonal skills. The candidate should have good communication skills and good documentation skills. The candidate should be able to work independently.

 Benefits

The candidates will get a salary of $73,924.81 to $91,946.52 on per year basis. The candidate will be given an extra $41.07 on bi weekly basis as an isolation allowance.
