Park Warden, Operations Technician

The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) are looking to hire 5 candidates for the position of Park Warden, Operations Technician. The job location is Fushimi Lake Provincial Park (Hearst), Nagagamisis Provincial Park (Hornepayne), and Rene Brunelle Provincial Park (Moonbeam). These are temporary and seasonal vacancies. The duration is from April to November for 35 weeks. The salary will be from $25.78 to $28.72 on per hour basis. The candidate should have a secondary school diploma and relevant training. The last date to apply is March 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for park enforcement and security. They will do the natural resource management. They will help with the technical operations of the park. They will provide customer service. The candidates will work within the park rules. They will do an inspection of the facilities. They will do minor repairs and collect the garbage. They will operate the equipment. They will lead the support staff.

Required Qualification:

The candidate should have a secondary school diploma. They should have a valid Class G driver’s license. The candidates should be working in shifts. They should have English and French proficiency for the bilingual position.

Experience Needed:

The candidates should have experience in park operations or resource management. They should have experience in operating light and heavy equipment. They should have experience in doing inspections. They should have experience in providing customer service.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have customer service skills. They should have good communication skills. They should know English and French. They should be good decision makers. They should have knowledge of legislation. The candidates should be able to work independently. They should have organizational skills.
