Probation Officer (Growth)

Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, BC Public Service is looking to hire 1 candidate for the position of Probation Officer (Growth). The candidate will work in the BC Corrections, Community Corrections Division. This is a regular and full time job opportunity. The selected candidate will get a salary from $73,924.81 for Level 1, $76,103.27 for Level 2, and $80,678.55 to $91,946.52 at the full working level. The last date to apply for this position is February 5, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing the needs of the clients. They will look after the adult clients following the court orders. They will write the reports. They will deliver the programs for rehabilitation. They will manage the case plans of the individuals. The candidate will collaborate with the RCMP and other agencies . They will promote the safety of the public.

Required Qualification:

The candidate should have one of the following educational qualifications. A bachelor’s degree from a Canadian institution. A 2 year diploma and 3 years of experience. 60 post-secondary credits and 3 years of diploma. They should have completed the Adult Probation Officer prerequisite course. The candidate should have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience of working with individuals with social or health needs. They should have experience in managing cases. The preference will be given to candidates with previous probation officer experience.

The candidate should have analytical skills. They should have good communication skills. They should follow practices ethically. They should have good interpersonal skills. They should have cultural awareness. They should be able to work independently and as part of the team.
