Probation and Parole Officer

The Ministry of the Solicitor General in the Probation and Parole Division is looking to hire the candidates for the position of Probation and Parole Officer. The job location is Geraldton, Ontario in Canada. This is a contract position for 12 months. The selected candidate will get a salary of $1,506.53 to $1,861.87 on per week basis. The candidates not having any experience will get a salary of $1182.40 to $1541.00 on per week basis. The last date to apply for this position is January 30, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering probation or parole to adult offenders. They will prepare the court orders. They will monitor if the court orders are being followed. The candidate will do the risk assessment. They will help the offender with the rehabilitation. They will collaborate with the victims and the police.

Required Qualification:

The candidate should have a degree in social work, sociology, or psychology. The candidate could also have a recognized degree and 5 years of experience. They will be required to travel regularly in the service area.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience in counselling. They should have experience in developing the case. They should have experience working with the indigenous people. They should have experience in applying the policies correctly.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong analytical skills. They should have good decision making skills. They should have good communication skills. The candidate should be able to manage different cases at a time. They should have good interpersonal skills. They should have cultural sensitivity.
