Senior Marine Safety Inspector

Transport Canada, Marine Safety and Security is looking to hire dedicated candidates for the role of Senior Marine Safety Inspector – T1-07 – Inventory. The job locations will be Nanaimo, Prince Rupert, Vancouver or Victoria in British Columbia in Canada. The Marine professionals who have experience of several years in leadership and technical expertise are encouraged to apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for conducting inspections of commercial vessels. They will check seafarers ‘ certificates for safety purposes. They will check if any dangerous things are being transported. They will keep an eye on the irregular transportation of cargoes. They will issue the safe manning documents. They will help to implement the safety standards in their work area. They will take strict actions when safety is at risk.

Required Qualifications:

The candidates should have a degree in naval architecture, electrical engineering, electrical technology or a related field.

Experience Needed:

The candidates should have 2 years of marine experience with a University degree. The candidates without a university degree should have five years of experience in marine design and construction.

The candidates should have strong communication skills. They should have problem solving skills. They should have good judgment skills. They should have leadership skills. They should be able to work calmly in high stressful situations. They should be good at multitasking.

 Benefits
