Social Worker (Growth)

The BC Public Service, Ministry of Children and Family development (MCFD) is looking to hire 1 candidate for the position of CYSN Social Worker (Growth). This would be a regular and full time position available till June 1, 2027. The job locations will be in British Columbia in Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Mission. The hybrid work option will be available for this post. The selected candidate will get a salary from $73,924.81 to $91,946.52 on per year basis. The candidate should have a degree in Social Work or a relevant field. The last date to apply for this position is February 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the children and Youth by connecting them to volunteering services. They will manage the cases. They will coordinate different services related to well-being of the families. The candidate will collaborate with the MCFD teams. 

Required Qualification:

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or any other related field. They could also have a combination of education and relevant experience of 1 year. They should have a Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license. The candidate should be eligible to register with the BC College of Social Workers.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience working with children, youth and families. They should have experience of working with the support system in the community. They should have experience in collaborating with the different teams.

Skills and Competencies:

The selected candidate should have good communication skills. They should have good interpersonal skills. They should have good judgment skills. They should be culturally sensitive. They should have good time management skills. The candidate should be able to work independently and in a team.
