Steward/Server (Ontario & Québec)

Canadian Coast Guard Steward Jobs. The Canadian Coast Guard is looking to hire Stewards for short term. The candidates will work aboard vessels in Ontario and Quebec. The people who like to travel, work in teams and are hardworking can apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidates will perform housekeeping duties like cleaning the cabins, shared areas and bathrooms. They will handle the laundry duties. They will serve food to the crew and maintain the hygiene of the eating area. They will be responsible for providing high quality services to the officers and crew. They will work with the team during the voyage period.

Qualification:

The candidates who wish to apply should have a strong command of English and French. They should have a Safe Food Handling Certificate. They should hold a valid passport. They must have Health Canada Medical Clearance. They should be eligible for Secret Security Clearance.

Experience:

The candidates should be familiar with maintaining hygiene in a high use environment. They should have at least 3 months of experience working in the hospitality sector.

Skills Competencies:

The candidate should have a strong sense of leadership and ability to work independently. They should be good at time management and organizational skills. They should be comfortable working flexible hours. They should be able to work aboard away from home for about 14-42 days. They should be well adjusted with the rest of the team and crew on board.

Benefits:

The salary of selected candidates will be $31.45. In addition, the workers will be compensated for overtime work. They will be granted paid time off equivalent to their work at sea. They will have an opportunity to work towards getting a full time job in a marine career.
