2026 Summer Law Student (1L) – Various positions

The ministry of Attorney General (MAG) is looking to hire 2026 Summer Law Students (1L) for a temporary 4 months position. The candidate will work in the Law Society of Ontario’s experiential training competencies and will earn $961.35 on per week basis. The candidates will be appointed in different locations in Ontario. The candidate must be a 1st year law student. The final application deadline is February 4, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for summarizing the case law. They will organize the evidence and legal documents. They will prepare the legal memoranda. The candidates will do the legal researches in areas like criminal, civil and indigenous law. They will help with the policy analysis. The candidates will support the lawyers in doing tasks. They will review the legal files.

Required Qualification:

The candidates should be enrolled in a recognized LLB, JD or any other equivalent law program. They must be completing the first year of law school. They should be eligible to work in Canada. They should be eligible for a criminal record check.

Experience Needed:

There is no requirement for any legal work experience. The candidate should be academically strong. They should have an interest in public law, litigation and policies.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should have strong legal research skills. They should have good analytical skills. They should have good communication skills. They should pay attention to details. They should give priority to deadlines.
