Mechanic

Transport Canada is looking to hire a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. The work location will be Churchill Airport in Manitoba, Canada. The candidates will get an opportunity to combine technical work with the northern lifestyle and the northern lights.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidates will have a responsibility to perform maintenance and repair for heavy duty and light gasoline vehicles. They will overhaul the plants, vehicles and equipment for safety and smooth functioning. They will do welding as part of the repair activity. They will prepare a service schedule. They will assist with the airport duties.

Qualification:

The candidates are required to have a certification in heavy duty operations with a red seal endorsement. They should be proficient in using diagnostic software for calibrations. It is important to know the English language. They should have a valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver’s License.

Experience:

The candidate needs to have experience in maintenance and repair of heavy duty equipment. They should know how to do technical reporting. They should know both traditional and modern diagnostic tools. They should be able to settle in a Northern climate.

Skills and Competencies:

They should have strong mechanical skills. They should have respect for daily work practices. They should have action oriented mindset. The candidates should have good written and spoken communication skills. They should be a team player.

 Benefits
