HSS Farms are looking to hire General Farm Workers (Harvesting). The work location is Abbotsford, British Columbia . This will be a seasonal and full time work in the farm operations department. There are 10 vacancies available. The candidates will work for 40 hours per week. The salary would be $17.85 on per hour basis. The selected candidates will be required to start the work as soon as possible. There is no education criteria set for applying for the job. The employer is Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) approved and the candidate should be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a foreign worker.
Key Responsibilities for General Farm Workers (Harvesting)
The selected candidates will be responsible for handling the harvesting. They will harvest the vegetables and seedlings. They will clean the fields. They will cultivate the crops using a vertical farming system. They will grade the vegetables and fruits based on their colour, shape, size and volume. They will add fertilizers to the crops. The candidates will maintain the cleanliness in the farm areas.
Required Qualifications
The candidates are required to have 1-7 months of experience in farming or harvesting. The candidates with experience in crop handling or general farm labour will be preferred.
Experience Needed
There is no requirement for any formal education. The candidates should have proficiency in English. They must be legally authorised to work in Canada. The candidate should be able to perform physically demanding tasks. The work will be in the outdoor and on-site environment.
Required Experience and Physical Skills
The candidates should have good physical stamina and they should be able to do manual tasks effectively. They should pay attention to details. The candidates are required to follow the farm standards and instructions. The candidates should be willing to work in the morning and daytime shifts.
